My experience

book a free telephone consultationI have extensive experience in using Cognitive Behavioural Therapy in the treatment of all major psychological disorders. In the past, I have worked at The Priory Hospital North London for nearly 4 years, under the supervision of many highly qualified and recognised Cognitive and Behavioural professionals in the field of mental health. During that time I worked with individuals presenting with a wide range of psychological problems, as well as facilitating OCD groups, Social Anxiety groups and BDD groups.

I have also worked for three years as a Chartered Counselling Psychologist for The Barnet and Edgware Mental health Trust, at the Psychological Therapy Services offering individual and group CBT and MBCT therapy in secondary care.

I set up my private practice in 2005 while working for the NHS and I am now solely working in private practice.

It's probably the best thing I've ever done for myself

I am a fully qualified Chartered Counselling Psychologist accredited with the British Psychological Society (BPS) and a member of The British Association for Behavioural and Cognitive Psychotherapies (BABCP).

I have received additional training in the form of intensive professional workshops in CBT at The Institute of Psychiatry (Maudsley Hospital) in Anxiety Disorders, Social Phobia and OCD with renowned Psychologists in their fields including Professor Paul Salkovskis who featured in the BBC programme: “The house of OCD”.

I have attended an MBCT teacher training course at The Centre for Mindfulness Research and Practice at Bangor University and I have facilitated numerous eight weeks MBCT courses in groups and with individuals.

I have given presentations and workshop for people with OCD and their carers at the OCD Action conference in London and in Manchester.

I have volunteered as a counsellor at the Women Counselling Service, between September 2000 and May 2002, working with survivors of physical and sexual abuse.

I have also volunteered on a rehabilitation programme for young offenders both in Southampton where I studied for my first degree and in London, offering support and coaching to the young people and volunteers involved in the programme.
